Her mother was an accountant, while her father was a teacher of history. Anna was raised with her brother Michael, an actor, and later an actor. Anna Kendrick started auditioning for Broadway shows at the age of 10. When she was 12, she got her first big performance in the theater when she joined the group of High Society in 1998. Even as a young child the performance was good enough to garner her various nominated and awards. She was a part of A Little Night Music in 2003. In 2003, she made her debut in film in the film Camp at the age of 15.
